Delta Air Lines announced the launch of Delta Biometrics at 50 locations across the United States.

Delta Biometrics is powered by Clear, a registered traveler program operated in association with the TSA, and supports a secure biometric check-in.

The program allows Delta Sky Club members with Clear to use fingerprints to enter all 50 Sky Club airport lounges operated by the carrier in the United States.

The use of biometrics has now become commonplace, the Atlanta-based carrier points out.

“From unlocking our phones to entering the workplace, more and more people have the option to use biometrics as a form of identity verification for daily activities,“ said Gil West, the airline’s chief operating officer.

To use Delta Biometrics, the traveler simply places two fingers on the fingerprint reader. No boarding pass or other form of identification is required.

Membership in Clear is free for Delta Sky Club members and discounted rates are available for most Delta SkyMiles frequent-flyer program members.
