IMG_3376Avis Budget Group will add 10,000 Toyota vehicles to the Avis Car Rental fleet in a partnership with Toyota, the two parties said.

The move will provide Avis with “enhanced connectivity and visibility into their fleet, and bring travelers increased control and convenience over their rental experience,” Toyota said.

The car rental company will utilize the automaker’s Mobility Services Platform, a suite of software and connected services for mobility business, to provide customers with more information about their vehicles via the Avis smartphone app, which includes fuel levels and vehicle location and also speeds up the check-in and check-out processes.

Toyota Connected North America, the automaker’s mobile infrastructure unit, is behind the deal.

“We are leveraging the power of data science to develop and deliver new mobility services that create new value for businesses and customers alike,” said Zack Hicks the group’s CEO.
