Alaska to Update First Class Menu with West Coast Specialties and Debut New Dining Concept

IMG_4326 (1)Alaska Airlines announced a new first-class menu on Friday and said that changes will be introduced throughout the year.

The airline said that the new menu includes “West Coast-inspired” dishes and will use local ingredients. Menu items will include strawberry-lime smoothie shots and an avocado bacon omelet for breakfast, and flank steak salad with green papaya, mint, and lime wedges for dinner.

On flights over 675 miles, Alaska’s offerings will also include healthy options such as salads and protein plates as well as a vegetarian option. On shorter flights, snacks will include a chipotle or edamame hummus plate with whole wheat pita and vegetables.

Many of the meals will conclude with West Coast specialties including Nancy’s Fancy gelato and Sweet Lady Jane brownies, from California, and Seattle Chocolate truffles from Washington.

Alaska will be introducing new wine offerings this summer and, later in the year, will introduce a more individualized dining concept.

Passengers can order a specific dish on many longer flights using the airline’s smartphone app as well.
