One of the highlights of my stay was dinner at the Wai‘olu Ocean Cuisine restaurant enjoying a sunset over water. The restaurant focuses on local fresh ingredients from the sea. My dining companion and I started with several small plates including the ahi poke and risotto and moved on to various sushi dishes, each more delectable than what preceded it.

Breakfast at the outdoor In-Yo Cafe is a remarkable sight. Its extensive buffet ranging from Japanese breakfast dishes to fresh fruit platters to wonderful smoothies made for a great start each day. Indeed, the biggest challenge was to choose an entrée, although you shouldn’t miss the Vanilla Custard Portuguese Sweetbread French Toast.

With a warm and truly thoughtful staff that exemplified the best of Hawaiian hospitality, easy access to one of the best beaches in the country, superb dining options, and opulent yet not ostentatious surroundings, the Trump International Hotel Waikiki is an excellent place to spend a few days in paradise.
