JetBlue Airways January Traffic, Load Factor Down

IMG_8285JetBlue Airways announced operational results for January 2018. The carrier said that its total traffic and load factor were down, while its capacity increased slightly for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 3.80 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year decline of 1.7% from 3.86 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

JetBlue’s capacity inched up slightly, increasing 0.1% to 4.639 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 4.636 billion ASMs in January 2017.

Meanwhile, the carrier’s passenger load factor for the month was 81.9%, a 1.4 percentage point decrease from 83.3% last January.

The airline also said its preliminary completion factor was 94.1% and its on-time performance was 65.8% for the period.
