DSC_0070In-flight Wi-Fi provider Gogo announced that it has placed over 200 aircraft into service with 2Ku inflight connectivity technology utilizing the increased capacity of SES Networks’ new SES 15 satellite.

SES 15 is SES’ first hybrid satellite and Ku-band wide beam and Ku-band High Throughput Satellite or HTS capability, with connectivity to gateways in the Ka-band.

The satellite provides service over North America, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

SES 15 was launched into orbit by a Soyuz rocket from the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana, on May 18, 2017. It went into service last month after taking six months to reach its orbital position and complete testing.
