United Sees Capacity Increase in December

United Airlines announced operational results for December 2017.
Traffic for the Chicago-based airline during the month of December was 18 billion RPMs, or revenue passenger miles, an increase of 2.7% from 17.6 billion RPMs in December 2016. The carrier’s total capacity for the month was up 3.7% to 22 billion ASMs, or available seat miles, from 21.2 billion ASMs last December.
Meanwhile, United’s consolidated load factor was 82.3%, a 0.8 percentage point decline from 83.1% the previous December.
The carrier reported a 5.7% rise in domestic traffic on a 6.8% increase in capacity while there was a 1.1% decrease in international traffic and a 0.2% decrease in international capacity.
