Nine New Diesels Announced at Detroit Show

IMG_2379 (1)DETROIT—Six automobile manufacturers, including General Motors, Chevrolet, and BMW, announced new diesel options for passenger cars, SUVs, and at the 2018 North American International Auto Show.

New options for the 2018/2019 model years include General Motor’s 2019 Silverado pickup with an inline 6 diesel, as well as Ford’s 2018 F-150 pickup with a V-6 PowerStroke diesel engine, and Fiat Chrysler’s 2019 Ram 1500 pickup with a 3.0-liter diesel engine.

Chevrolet will offer the 2018 Equinox crossover with a 1.6-liter turbo-diesel engine, along with the 2018 Cruze and Cruze Hatch compact sedans, also with 1.6-liter diesel engines. Meanwhile, Jeep will debut the 2019 Wrangler compact SUV, with a V-6 EcoDiesel option among three powertrain choices.

For 2018, BMW will offer the 540d as part of the 5 Series lineup, , and Kia will offer a Sorento crossover with a diesel option.
