Hawaiian Reports ‘Record Earnings’ for 2017

DSC_0313 (1)Hawaiian Airlines announced financial results for quarter and year ending December 31, 2017.

The Honolulu-based carrier reported net income of $364 million, on revenue of $2.7 billion, for the year, a 55% increase over the prior year. For the fourth quarter, the airline reported a net income of $172 million, on revenue of $687 million, up 1.1% year over year.

The airline also set a record for the number of passengers carried, 11.5 million last year, up 4.1% over 2016.

“We carried more guests this year than ever before and set new records for fourth quarter and full year revenue,” said Mark Dunkerley, the airline’s CEO.

In 2017, Hawaiian announced a new partnership with Japan Airlines that includes code shares, frequent-flyer reciprocity, and lounge access with plans to form a joint venture between the two. The partnership goes into effect on March 25.
