DSC_0459American Airlines announced it would allow coach passengers to pre-order a meal on a test basis on several flights departing Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Passengers may request their selection beginning 30 days and up to 24 hours prior to departure. Meals are available on flights to Philadelphia, Seattle, and New York’s LaGuardia Airport. Payment for the meal is made on board.

Selections will vary but currently include a fruit-and-cheese platter for $8.99 and a turkey sandwich with Havarti cheese priced at $9.99.

The Fort Worth-based airline was the first U.S. carrier to provide first- and business-class passengers the opportunity to pre-order in-flight meals.
