United Airlines in Search of Sydneys and Houstons to Celebrate New Flight to Sydney, Australia

To commemorate the start of the airline’s new non-stop service from Houston to Sydney, Australia, United Airlines is holding a contest to find travelers with Sydney or Houston as their first or last names.

Five U.S.-based winners will receive round-trip tickets for himself and a guest to travel on the inaugural Houston-Sydney flight in January 2018 while five Australian winners with the first or last name of Houston will travel from Sydney to Houston on the inaugural return flight.

The contest may be entered at www.SydneyHoustonUnited.com. Residents of New York and Florida are not eligible.

Each Sydney will also receive five nights’ accommodations at the Westin Sydney

At 8,596 miles (13,834 kilometers), the flight between the two cities will be the airline’s second longest. The airline will operate the service with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with 48 lie-flat seats in the United Polaris business-class cabin, 63 seats in the airline’s premium economy lite Economy Plus section, and 141 seats in coach.

Seats in United Polaris extend to a fully flat 78” bed and are 22” in width.
