Starbucks announced a promotion for the month of December that will enable customers to earn Starbucks Gold status in the Starbucks Rewards loyalty program by making just one purchase.

The offer is in effect until the end of 2017 and only U.S.-based customers are eligible. Starbucks Gold status typically requires 300 stars, which represents roughly $150 in spend. Gold members receive a free reward after every 125 stars, which can be redeemed for anything on the menu.

The single purchase, for which there is no minimum price requirement, must be made using either the Starbucks app or a registered Starbucks Card.

Last year, Starbucks renamed its loyalty program, dropping the word “My,” and moved it to a revenue-based model.
