Marriott to Continue Partnership with American Express and JPMorgan Chase
Marriott International announced plans to continue its relationships with both American Express and JPMorgan Chase for co-branded credit cards associated with its three loyalty programs.
The hotelier said it has signed new agreements with the two credit card issuers covering Marriott Rewards and Ritz-Carlton Rewards with Visa credit cards from JPMorgan Chase and Starwood Preferred Guest credit cards from American Express.
The relationship between Marriott, Starwood, and American Express dates back over 60 years.
Marriott said it will introduce new co-branded cards from both issuers starting in 2018 although it did not release any details. The current portfolio of cards will continue with no changes, although the company said that loyalty program members as well as hotel owners and franchisees will soon see significant incremental benefits from the new agreements.
“We are pleased to bring together the power of JPMorgan Chase and American Express with our global portfolio of brands to continue to provide consumers with choices,” said Arne Sorenson, the company’s CEO.
