At Least 3 People Killed, Scores Injured in Amtrak Derailment Near Tacoma

DSC_0345-1(2)At least three people were reported killed and dozens injured Monday in the aftermath of an Amtrak train derailment outside Tacoma, Washington.

The derailment occurred on the first day of the train’s new route, from Seattle, to Portland.

There were 77 passengers and seven crewmembers reported on board the train, which careened off a bridge and onto a highway below.

The National Transportation Safety Board said it will investigate the incident.
