London Underground Gets New Smartphone App

Transport for London announced a new smartphone app for its Oyster card electronic ticket.
The new app, Tfl Oyster, allows users of adult Oyster cards to top up the card remotely, thereby avoiding long queues at Tube stations. It is available on both iOS and Android platforms.
Other features include support for purchasing an adult rate Travelcard or Bus & Tram Pass, and low balance notifications.
The app provides details including date, time, and the cost of each journey within an eight-week period.
The Oyster card can be used on most travel modes in the London area including the London Underground, London Buses, the Docklands Light Railway, and the London Overground.
