Alaska Airlines said Wednesday it plans to introduce non-stop daily service next year linking Seattle with Pittsburgh. Alaska will be the only carrier to operate that route.

Service to and from Pittsburgh International Airport will begin on September 6, 2018. The eastbound flight will depart Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at 8:25 a.m. and arrive in Pittsburgh at 4:10 p.m. The westbound flight will depart Pittsburgh at 5:20 p.m. and arrive in Seattle at 7:50 p.m.

Alaska will operate the Pittsburgh service using 159-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The 737-800 has 12 seats in first class. Each seat is 21” in width and has 41” of seat pitch.

“Alaska continues to meet the needs of valued Seattle guests with new service to the Steel City,” said the airline’s vice president of capacity planning, John Kirby.

The airline currently operates 90 non-stop flights from its Seattle hub.
