A cold front brought damaging winds, a few tornadoes, and torrential downpours to the Northeast Tuesday, resulting in hundreds of flight delays and cancellations and downed power lines.

Flash flooding is likely in areas with poor drainage.

Almost 400 flights were canceled at New York’s three major airports, John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty, while over 600 flights experienced delays, according to data from FlightStats, a company that tracks such information.

JFK reported wind guests of over 40 mph (63 km/h) before noon and a high wind warning is in effect through 2 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The storm resulted in widespread power outages in Roxbury and Hopatcong in New Jersey and more localized outages elsewhere in the tri-state region.
