New Sports Complex Opens at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport announced the opening of a sports training complex, the fist of its kind at an airport in the United States.

The $10.4 million Drive Nation Sports Complex is located on 16.2 acres (6.5 hectares) of land at the airport, and comprises over 90,000 square feet (8,361 square meters) of indoor space including basketball and volleyball courts, player lounges, a performance training area, 50-yard all-purpose indoor turf area, and a 10,000-square-foot (929-square-meter) weight room.

The facility will house the Drive Nation Skills Academy for boys and girls in grades three through 12. Jermaine O’Neal, a six-time National Basketball Association all-star, is the founder of the academy.

The academy’s goal is to train and coach players of various sports and held develop their skills. O’Neal will serve on the coaching staff of the academy.
