InterContinental Hotel Group announced on Tuesday the opening of the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel.

At 1,100’ (335 meters) in height, the 73-storey property is the tallest building west of Chicago. Check-in for the hotel is in the Sky Lobby on the 70th floor, which is home to a three-story light sculpture evoking the city’s freeways.

Suites have separate living room areas and feature La Labo bath products. The Presidential Suite features a separate dining room, piano, kitchenette, and a bath with a soaking tub with city views.

There are five eating and drinking establishments on the premises including the Lobby Vodka Bar & Lounge; Sora, a Japanese restaurant on the 69th floor; Dekkadence, also on the 69th floor and offering a variety of types of food; and La Boucherie, a steakhouse located on the 71st floor.

The hotel also provides 95,000 square feet (8,825 square meters) of meeting and banquet space including 33 meeting rooms and a 21,000-square-foot (1,950-square-meter) ballroom.
