Although for much of the world every day celebrates the hot beverage known as coffee, September 29 is National Coffee Day and many coffee-related businesses are offering their customers free or discounted cups of coffee.

Here is where you can get a complimentary morning (or afternoon) joe, in some cases throughout the weekend. In some stores, a purchase is required.

Krispy Kreme. The nation’s oldest doughnut and coffee company – it was founded in 1937 – is offering customers a choice of a free hot coffee of any size or a small iced blend not only today but throughout the weekend.

Dunkin’ Donuts. Founded in 1950, one of the nation’s oldest major chains of coffeehouses is celebrating by offering a medium cup of coffee with the purchase of coffee of any size.

Peets. A San Francisco-based roaster founded in 1960 by Alfred Peet, Peet’s is offering 25% off all purchases of coffee beans as well as a free drip coffee or tea with the purchase of coffee beans.

Wawa. The convenience store chain, which operates primarily in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida, is offering customers a free cup of coffee, any size, to observe the celebration.

Tim Hortons. The Canadian-based coffee and doughnut chain will celebrate National Coffee Day for a full week. Visit a participating U.S. location between September 29 and October 6, use the app, and get a free coffee, hot or iced, of any size.

Caribou Coffee. The Minnesota-based company is donating 10% of sales of Amy’s Blend Coffee, Caribou Coffee merchandise, and Caribou Coffee Signature Blend and Single Origin purchases to CancerCare.
