Red Roof debuted a new brand of hotels, the Red Collection, and said its first Red Collection property, the St. Clair Hotel, will open in Chicago next year.

The St. Claire, located one block from Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2018. Red Roof said that the hotel will offer amenities typical of a major downtown hotel including fast Wi-Fi and spa-inspired bathrooms, albeit at affordable rates. The property will also be pet friendly.

“The Red Collection will give our existing guests unique, more upscale value options while enticing new guests to experience our brand in a new way in the hearts of cities they love,” said Andrew Alexander, president of Red Roof.

The hotel plans to open a fine-dining restaurant in the lobby following the hotel’s grand opening.

Red Roof said that it is currently considering opening Red Collection properties in New York, Las Vegas, Charlotte, and Austin.
