IMG_0123 (1)Apple, which is in the process of releasing a trio of new iPhones, an updated Apple TV, and an updated Apple Watch, said Wednesday that models of the new watch with LTE connectivity are reportedly staying connected to unknown Wi-Fi networks with no connectivity, thereby blocking the watch from using the LTE signal.

“We have discovered that when Apple Watch Series 3 joins unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks without connectivity, it may at times prevent the watch from using cellular,” the company said in a statement.

The Cupertino-based company is working on a fix, however.

“We are investigating a fix for a future software release,” Apple said.

LTE connectivity is the main selling point for the newest version of the watch, dubbed Series 3, even though Wi-Fi has long been available. The use of LTE technology allows the watch to operate independently of an iPhone, giving it the ability to place and receive calls, send texts, and use Siri and Apple Maps without being tethered to an iPhone.
