Apple introduced three new iPhones, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus, as well as the iPhone X, at a media event in Cupertino Tuesday.

The iPhone X, pronounced iPhone 10, includes features such as a faster telephoto lens and an improved flash on the camera. The front-facing camera will provide portrait mode and other features of the outward-facing camera on previous models.

The phone does away with the home button, and will allow users to access the home screen simply by swiping up on the screen. The Touch ID will be replaced with a facial recognition ID system. In addition, the iPhone X will have a two hour increase in battery life over the iPhone 7.

The iPhone X will be priced starting at $999, and will be available for preorder October 27, with shipping beginning on November 3.

The new iPhone 8s are made completely of glass, and are available in three colors, silver, grey, and rose gold.

The entry-level iPhone 8 will start at $699, $50 more than the iPhone 7, but it will have twice the storage, 64 GB. The bigger iPhone 8 Plus, which has a larger display, starts off at $799. Preorders commence this Sunday, and the new devices will be in stores and in customers’ hands September 22.

The iPhones come with new features, including the True Tone tech from the iPad, which adjusts for the temperature of the light. Both the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will support wireless charging.

The camera on the iPhone 8 will use a new sensor and color filter, while the iPhones 8 Plus’ two cameras will sport two new sensors, and will be able to artificially alter the lighting of photos.

Phil Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple, said that the phones are the first “designed for augmented reality.”

Apple also introduced the Apple Watch Series 3, a new version of its smartwatch. The new device has a built-in LTE mobile connection that uses the same number as a user’s iPhone. It also offers a faster processor and a new Wi-Fi chip that is said to reduce power drain by 85%.

The new watch, available in grey, white, and ceramic, will be available for preorder on September 15, $329 without cellular service, and $399 with.

Finally, Apple said that the new version of its mobile operating system, iOS 11, will be available for download on September 19.
