Smart Hotels announced that it plans to open Sophy, a new boutique hotel in Chicago, next summer.

The property will be located in the city’s South Side at 53rd Street and Dorchester Avenue, in the Hyde Park neighborhood. The hotel will have 98 guestrooms.

The design of the property was inspired by the 1983 World’s Columbian Exposition, and will include elements such as barn doors on the private dining space. The hotel will also have artwork from local Chicago artists.

The hotel will be in close proximity to the University of Chicago campus, the University of Chicago Medical Center, and, once it opens, the Barack Obama Presidential Library.
