Hainan Airlines announced that it will begin new service between Chengdu and New York on October 26. The route will be the carrier’s second non-stop to North America from Chengdu, after its Chengdu-Los Angeles route.

Flights to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport will initially depart on Thursdays and Saturdays, while flights to Chengdu will operate on Fridays and Sundays. Beginning October 29, flights to New York will switch to Tuesdays and Saturdays, while flights to Chengdu will switch to Wednesdays and Sundays.

Hainan will operate the service using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
