United Airlines’ new Polaris lounge at Chicago O’Hare International Airport only opened at the very end of 2016 and it’s already slated for an expansion due to its popularity.

The lounge is only open to ticketed Polaris-cabin passengers but its size has been inadequate to handle the number of such passengers during peak departure times for international flights.

As a result, the Chicago-based airline said it plans to take over part of the adjacent United Club for the Polaris lounge. The work to accomplish this is slated to be completed by the end of 2017.

United only has one Polaris lounge at O’Hare while it has several United Clubs there. Indeed, the Chicago Polaris lounge remains the airline’s only Polaris lounge although the airline is planning to open additional locations at San Francisco International and Newark Liberty International airports by the end of the year.
