IMG_1564 (2)The so-called laptop ban has been lifted on passengers traveling from Turkey and the United Arab Emirates to the United States.

Passengers traveling from Dubai International and Istanbul Atatürk airports are once again permitted to take their large personal electronic devices, including laptops, on board with them on flights.

“#WelcomeOnBoard to our US-bound flight. Please fasten your seatbelts and enjoy your own electronic devices,” Turkish Airlines said in a tweet announcing the change.

The move is a byproduct of new airport security requirements promulgated by the Department of Homeland Security that obviate the need for a so-called “laptop ban” if the airport’s security checkpoint meets U.S. standards.
