American Airlines and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts both announced new features and functionality in the latest version of their iOS smartphone apps.

American, the world’s largest carrier, introduced version 5.2.1 of its iOS app on Saturday. The new version allows travelers to rebook their flights when there are delays or cancellations. It also allows travelers to order food from airport restaurants using the app’s terminal maps. This feature will first be available in Austin-Bergstrom International, Dallas/Fort Worth International, Los Angeles International, and Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International airports.

The app also includes new background images.

Meanwhile, Four Seasons added new functionality in version 2.0.2 that simplifies communication with a property before arrival.

“Need anything for your stay?” the hotelier asks. “Chat directly with the hotel, before, during, and after your stay, in up to 100 languages.”
