Aloft Raleigh, North Carolina – Hotel Review

If I hadn’t known the Aloft Raleigh is located on a college campus, my arrival there surely would have confirmed it. Throngs of red graduation-robe wearing graduates of North Carolina State University were posing for photos beneath the school’s famed bell tower, which is located directly across the street from the hotel.

Resisting my urge to travel back in time and join them, I entered the hotel’s ay its lower level and took an elevator to the second floor lobby.

The hotel chain’s signature W XYZ Bar is adjacent to the lobby, and the vibrantly decorated establishment opens onto a large sitting area as well as a terrace, which was very tempting in the balmy summer weather.

Check-in formalities were completed quickly by the friendly and accommodating staff, and I was off to my room without delay.

THE ROOM

My Savvy Suite consisted of two queen size beds in the sleeping area, with a long dresser with a flatscreen TV on top and a desk connected to it on the opposite wall. The room, much like the rest of the hotel, was decorated in colors, while the carpeting consisted of a soothing palette of grays and blues.

A nightstand between the two beds provided convenient power outlets, and lights above each bed made for easy bedtime reading.
