On a rainy Seattle afternoon, a doorman smilingly held the door for me as I walked into the W Seattle, glad to be out of the infamous Pacific Northwest weather, and I immediately found refuge from the dreary outdoors and was warmed by the lobby’s ambiance.

A large, circular fireplace was at the center of the Living Room, as W calls it, and guests were enjoying its warmth and the comforts of the inviting cushions, chairs, and couches.

Up a short set of stairs was the front desk, and after , I helped myself to one of the apples offered on the desktop. The line was short, check-in formalities were accomplished efficiently, and I was shown to the elevators, which required the use of a keycard to operate.

THE ROOM

My Queen room had a couch, behind which was a large window offering views of downtown Seattle. A flatscreen TV was positioned above a desk.

The queen size pillow-top bed had an LED backlit headboard and nightstands, each with reading lamps, on both sides of the bed offered easily accessibly power outlets. Upon arrival, I crawled right in to bed to nap, easily accomplished by the soft caresses of the cozy mattress.

The bathroom was not large, although the shower offered more than enough room, and the white marble countertop offered ample space for my toiletries.
