DSC_0261 (1)A website launched by Lufthansa Innovation Hub, a subsidiary of Lufthansa, will allow travelers to automatically check in for flights online, regardless of the airline they are flying provided the carrier offers online check-in.

The website,, was available in beta last year, and only officially launched this month.

Passengers can register on the website and store their travel documents, personal information, and seating preferences all in their own profile. They will then automatically be checked in for all flights that are booked, using their personal email address.

The automatic check-in would take place within minutes of the opening of the online window for the airline a passenger is flying. The process makes it more likely for travelers to receive their preferred seat. Boarding passes will be emailed or sent via text message

Other features of the website include the ability for passengers to specify travel companions in their profile, as well as manage passports and other personal identification documents for international flights. Flight overviews will also allow travelers to view both upcoming and past flight information.
