IMG_9907 (1)Britain suffered its third terror attack in as many months late Saturday when three men in a white van jumped over the curb and began running down numerous pedestrians on London Bridge. They then exited the van brandishing hunting knives and started to stab people in the Borough Market, a popular gathering place.

At least seven people were killed in the two incidents, which began shortly after 10 p.m. local time, with dozens more injured.

The police response was quick: the assailants were chased down and killed within minutes of emerging from the van.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan described the incident as a “deliberate and cowardly attack on innocent Londoners.” “We will never let these cowards win and we will never be cowed by terrorism,” he said.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which came in the wake of the bombing in Manchester outside an Ariana Grande concert, killing 22 people including many children and injuring 116. The attack was also reminiscent of the March 22 incident on Westminster Bridge when Khalid Masood drove a car into pedestrians, killing four people and injuring 50. Masood continued on to stab a police officer to death before being shot and killed outside Parliament
