JAL to Introduce New Business and Premium Cabins on 787-9 Dreamliners

DSC_0836Japan Airlines announced that it will introduce a new JAL Sky Suite design in its Boeing 7870-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The new configuration will first be offered on the airline’s Tokyo Narita-Kuala Lumpur route at the end of next month, and will rolled out to other international routes in the near future.

The business-class cabin will have the newest JAL Sky Suite III lie-flat seats, which are currently installed on the carrier’s 777-200ERs. There will be 52 seats in business class in a 1-2-1 configuration, each with a width of 20” and a maximum bed length of 77”.

Each seat will also have a power outlet, USB port, and LED lights, as well as a 17” monitor.

The premium economy-cabin will be outfitted with 35 JAL Sky Premium seats in a 2-3-2 configuration. Seats will be 19” wide and have a pitch of 42”, and there will be a divider between seats. Each will also have a bottle holder, USB port and power outlet, and a 12.1” monitor.

In economy class, 116 JAL Sky Wider seats will be in a 2-4-2 layout, each with a width of 18” and a pitch of 33”. A power outlet and USB port will be at each seat, as well as a 10.6” monitor.

In addition, a new entertainment system, Magic-VI, will be offered in the cabins, and will have over 300 movies and videos available.
