DSC_0018Flight attendants at British Airways will walk off the job July 1, according to a statement by their union.

Unite, the union that represents the airline’s mixed-fleet flight attendants, said that the planned work action is a result of a long-standing dispute on pay and benefits.

The strike will start at 12:01 a.m. on July 1 and end at 11:59 p.m. on July 16.

The airline termed the plans “extreme and completely unnecessary” in a statement.

Since the start of the year, various BA workgroups have been on strike for a total of 26 days.
