JetBlue Sees Large Increase in April Traffic

JetBlue Airways announced operational results for April 2017. The carrier said that its total traffic, capacity, and load factor were all up for the month.
The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 4.068 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 8.2% from 3.76 billion RPMs in the same period last year.
The carrier’s capacity also increased, up 6.6% to 4.767 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 4.472 billion ASMs in April 2016.
JetBlue’s passenger load factor for the month was 85.3% a 1.2 percentage point increase from 84.1% last April.
The carrier said it expects second quarter RASM to increase between 3% and 6% compared to the second quarter of 2016.
