JetBlue Sees Large Increase in April Traffic

DSC_5013JetBlue Airways announced operational results for April 2017. The carrier said that its total traffic, capacity, and load factor were all up for the month.

The New York-based airline’s passenger traffic was 4.068 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 8.2% from 3.76 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

The carrier’s capacity also increased, up 6.6% to 4.767 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, from 4.472 billion ASMs in April 2016.

JetBlue’s passenger load factor for the month was 85.3% a 1.2 percentage point increase from 84.1% last April.

The carrier said it expects second quarter RASM to increase between 3% and 6% compared to the second quarter of 2016.
