First Kimpton Hotel to Open Outside of Americas Debuts in Amsterdam

InterContinental Hotels and Resorts announced the opening of Kimpton De Witt hotel in Amsterdam. The property is the first Kimpton hotel to open in Europe, as well as the first of the brand’s properties to open outside of the Americas.

The hotel has 274 guestrooms and suites, and is located in a late 20th century building with architecture from the Dutch Golden Age in the 17th century. The hotel is health-conscious: Each room a yoga mat for the guest’s use, and the guests can check out complimentary bikes from the hotel to explore the city.

Inside the hotel is what InterContinental calls the Little House, a 15th century three-story home which was the childhood house of P.C. Hooft, a Dutch playwright. The house can features two king-size rooms and a first floor living room, and can be rented for groups looking for a private room.

Guests can dine at Wyers Bar and Restaurant, which offers American fare with Dutch influences, as well as House Bar, which features cocktails and local gins. Miss Louisa Coffee and Beignets features morning, afternoon, and evening snacks, as well as specialty coffees.
