FLIGHT PLAN

The flight had been scheduled to depart at 6:05 a.m. but we pushed back at approximately 6:25. Takeoff had been originally scheduled for 6:30 a.m. and we were wheels up at 7:15.

Our flight path first took us due west over the Pacific, and soon we reversed our heading and flew across Southern California, Arizona and New Mexico, followed by southeastern Colorado.

We continued over Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, before crossing the New York State border.

Touch down at JFK was at 3:15 p.m., 35 minutes later than planned, but we nonetheless arrived at the gate a mere ten minutes late at 3:25.

SEAT COMFORT

Delta operates the LAX-JFK flight with a mixture of Boeing 767-300 and Boeing 757-200 aircraft. I had specifically chosen the 6:05 flight because it was a wide-body with lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration in the Delta One cabin. (The 757 has lie-flat seats but in a 2-2 configuration.)

Each business-class pod is 80” long, 21” wide, reclines to 180° and is horizontal to the deck when fully extended in bed mode.
