DSC_5013JetBlue Airways announced that it plans to launch new service to Port-au-Prince, Haiti from Orlando this December.

The carrier will operate the route using Embraer 190 aircraft, equipped with 100 seats, including 16 in Even More Space, the carrier’s premium economy lite section, and 84 in economy. Seats in Even More Space are 18.25” wide and have a pitch of 39”.

Orlando will become JetBlue’s fourth city from which it serves Port-au-Prince’s Toussaint Louverture International Airport. The airport recently underwent a $6 million renovation funded by the Haitian government.

With the new flight, JetBlue will provide more service to the Haitian capital than any other carrier. The carrier currently offers flights to Port-au-Prince from Boston’s Logan International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The new route will require government approval.
