American Airlines Announces Major Update to Mobile App

DSC_0514 (1)American Airlines announced a significant upgrade of its smartphone app for both Apple iOS- and Android-powered devices.

Version 5.0 sports a new user interface with simplified navigation and is designed to provide faster access to specific trip details during a trip. A new “sliding action menu” features dynamic content specifically tailored to the trip as well.

The Fort Worth-based airline also adding new push notifications for flight changes as well as a “manage trip” link that is intended to streamline changes in existing reservations.

The app also has 11 new interactive airport terminal maps that make wayfaring easier at unfamiliar airports.
