Marriott Unveils European Roadmap for 2020

DSC_0373Marriott International announced plans to expand its portfolio in Europe by 2020.

The hotelier plans to triple the number of signed deals for W Hotels on the Continent. Currently it has eight and another eight are set to open between July 2017 and 2021. It also plans to double the number of rooms opened or signed for such brands as AC Hotels, Aloft, and Four Points by Sheraton, for which it currently has 24,000 rooms in Europe.

Marriott will introduce Delta Hotels by Marriott in this period by opening or signing 4,000 rooms and it will grow Courtyard by Marriott by approximately 12,000 opened or signed rooms by 2020.

For its lifestyle brand Moxy, Marriott plans to add 22,000 rooms and open 18,000 of those by 2020, the largest portion of its room growth in Europe.

The plans also include expanding the presence of its “iconic” brands including Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, the Luxury Collection, Tribute Portfolio, and Autograph Collection as well as its more prosaic Sheraton and Marriott Hotels brands.
