Marriott Invests in PlacePass, Will Offer Over 100,000 New Local Experiences to Guests

DSC_0782 (1)Marriott International announced that it invested in PlacePass, a travel technology company.

The partnership will allow travelers to choose from over 100,000 local experiences in 800 destinations worldwide.

Experiences will include exploring filming locations for the series “Downton Abbey,” in the United Kingdom, taking on a retired sumo wrestler in Tokyo in a bout, taking a sunrise mountain biking tour of Cambodian temples, and joining a pasta-making class at a Tuscan farmhouse in Italy.

Travelers will be able to select the experiences when they book direct on Marriott or SPG’s websites or their apps.
