How to Use Your iPhone as a Magnifier

Today’s iPhone is the Swiss Knife of yesteryear, minus the sharp blade. It has every possible tool in it from a calculator, to a camera, to a Web browser, to a video recorder, to a music player, and much more.

From time to time, having a magnifying lens comes in handy and the kludge has been to use the camera and zoom in. There’s a much easier way since the iPhone actually has a built-in magnifier app.

It isn’t turned on by default, but it’s very easy to enable. Once it’s on, tapping the Home button three times will put the iPhone into magnifier mode.

Start by selecting Settings > General > Accessibility.

Locate the Magnifier option and turn it on.

When finished, exit Settings.

Anytime you need to access the magnifying glass, simply triple-click the Home button to start the app.

To exit the magnifier, just click the Home button once.
