DSC_0038Good Thursday morning. Here’s what you will be waking up to Thursday.

Heavy snow is expected along much of the I-95 corridor. The snow, which started late Wednesday night, will bring anywhere from 6” to a foot (15 to 30 centimeters) by the time it stops. Snowfall rates could hit as much as 1” (2.5 centimeters) per hour at times.

A winter storm warning is in effect for all of southern New England, parts of eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, parts of northern Delaware, and northern Maryland. This includes Boston, Providence, Hartford, New York City, and Philadelphia. Blizzard warnings are in effect for eastern Long Island as well as Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket.

Expect numerous flight delays and cancellations throughout the country, not just in the impacted areas. Road conditions will be treacherous during the storm.

The snow should taper off in most areas by Thursday night.

Forecasters are still predicting thunderstorms of hail and fire and a plague of frogs for Friday in many parts of the country.
