Urbanica Opens its First U.S. Property

DSC_0519Urbanica, an Argentinean hotelier, announced the opening of a new property, Urbanica the Meridian. Situated in the South of Fifth neighborhood of Miami Beach it is the company’s first hotel to open in the United States.

Guests are treated to a complimentary mojito upon arrival. The hotel’s lobby is decorated with design elements of urban Miami, including a wooden bar and coffee tables made from rail road ties, as well as a welcome desk composed of vintage luggage.

The property has 71 guestrooms, ranging in size from 180 to 360 square feet (16 to 33 square meters), each designed with a cool color palette. The hotel also offers pet-friendly rooms, which come with a pet bed, toys, water and food bowls, and potty pads.

The property has a rooftop pool, as well as what the company calls a chill out room, a cool, climate controlled area next to the pool with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors and has a 120” projection screen for movies or video games.

Guests can dine at the property’s Italian café, the . The hotel also offers complimentary bicycles that guests may use.
