JAL to Open Revamped Lounge at Okinawa Airport
Japan Airlines announced that it will reopen the Sakura Lounge at Okinawa Naha Airport on February 28 following renovations to the space. Ryu Kosaka, the interior designer, is also responsible for the carrier’s international lounges at Tokyo Haneda and its domestic lounges at Sapporo New Chitose Airport.
The lounge will be 20% larger than the previous version, and an additional seven seats will be added, bringing the total number to 85. Most of the seats will also have power outlets, as well as provide space to stow carry-on luggage.
The lounge will display art works by local artists as well as what Japan Airlines said are unique local objects.
In addition, there will be a new security checkpoint for first class passengers, JAL Mileage Bank Diamond, and JGC Premier members.
