Hainan Airlines to Link Los Angeles with Chengdu and Chongqing, China

Hainan Airlines announced that it plans to launch new service to Los Angeles from both Chengdu and Chongqing next March. The carrier will operate both new routes twice weekly.

Flights will depart Los Angeles International Airport bound for Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport at 12:45 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, arriving at 6:35 a.m. the next morning. From Chengdu, flights are scheduled to depart at 9:10 p.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays and arrive in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. the same day.

Flights to Chongqing from Los Angeles will depart at 12:45 a.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays and arrive at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 6:30 a.m. the following day. Flights to Los Angeles will depart Chongqing at 9:25 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays and arrive at 8 p.m.

The routes will be the airline’s second and third to Los Angeles.

United Airlines, in 2014, became the first carrier to offer non-stop service from North America to Chengdu.
