JAL to Begin Tokyo Haneda-JFK Route
Japan Airlines announced that it plans to launch new daily Tokyo Haneda-New York service on April 1.
Flights will depart Tokyo at 10:40 a.m. and arrive at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport at 10:35 a.m. From New York, flights are scheduled to depart at 1:10 p.m. and arrive at 4:25 p.m. the next day.
Japan Airlines will operate the route using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. THe carrier’s 777-300ERs are equipped with eight suites in first class, 49 suites in business class, 40 seats in premium economy, and 147 seats in economy. Seats in first class are 33” wide and have a bed length of 78.5”.
When the new service starts, the airline will decrease its existing service between Tokyo Narita and JFK from 14 to seven weekly flight. However, the carrier will switch from a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner to a 777-300ER on the route to increase capacity.
The carrier also said it will increase its service between Tokyo Narita and Moscow from three to five weekly flights on March 26.
