InterContinental Hotels Group announced that it plans to open a new Kimpton property in Amsterdam this spring. The Kimpton De Witt will be the first of the brand’s hotels located in Europe, as well as the first one outside of the Americas.

The hotel will be situated in three original Renaissance-era buildings, near the city centre and Amsterdam’s Centraal station. The property will have 274 guestrooms, including 15 signature rooms and suites.

The hotel will also have what Kimpton calls a “house within a hotel,” a four-story residence that was the childhood home of P.C. Hooft, a Dutch playwright, and dates to the 1500s. The house can be rented for private groups, and has meeting areas and living space with its own bar.

Guests may dine at the hotel’s Wyers Bar and Restaurant, which will offer American cuisine with a Dutch twist. There will also be a coffee and beignet walk-up window located on the premises along with a flower shop.
