Delta Reports Drop in Profit, But Improvement in Unit Revenue

IMG_4454 (1)Delta Air Lines announced financial results for the fourth quarter of 2016.

The carrier reported a net income of $622 million, down from $980 million for 2015.

Revenue was down 0.5% to $9.458 from $9.5 billion.

But while unit revenue, a closely watched metric, fell 2.7% on a 0.9% increase in capacity, the airline said it expects unit revenue for the first quarter of 2017 to be flat up to 2% on unchanged capacity.
