Delta Expands Presence at London Heathrow with Purchase of Croatia Airlines Slots

DSC_0498Delta Air Lines will gain five takeoff and landing slots at London Heathrow Airport following a deal with Croatia Airlines.

The Atlanta-based carrier will pay Croatia Airlines $19.5 million for a late morning slot on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Delta will assume ownership of the slots on April 1.

The story was first reported in the Croatian newspaper Vecernji list

The Croatian airline said that the funds from the sale will be used for fleet maintenance and “further development” of the company. It will retain four afternoon slots following the close of the transaction.
